Don’t let your feelings replace your faith—let them fuel it. God’s love stays even when your emotions rise and fall. This is one of the hardest lessons I’ve learned in my life, and yet one of the most freeing.

I wake up each morning to a simple rhythm.
Wash my face. Brush my teeth. Cold water to fully wake up.
Tallow on my skin, almond oil because it smells like comfort.
I get dressed—comfort usually wins—and I make coffee, because that part is non-negotiable.

It’s 4:30 a.m. The house is quiet. I roll out of bed and try to not wake up my husband. I turn on the shower, brush my teeth, pull my hair up in a bun so that it won’t get wet, step into the solace of the shower and let the water pour over me. I breathe in the steam and the scent of my almond milk soap.

There is a deep desire within all of us to know God and to know his love. Yet this world is so noisy, and we tend to do whatever we can to get by without leaning into Him. When I finally lean in, be still and wait, that is when transformation happens.

Life comes in waves and you can either drown or walk on water. That’s the difference between living this life without Jesus and living with Him. Because in the midst of breathless days, he is the very breath you breathe.

We are a family that loves to celebrate and feast (which is just a fancy word for eat!)

So anytime we get to celebrate we take full advantage.

We are almost finished with January and I am willing to bet that some of us have faltered some in that daily quiet time goal that we made at the beginning of the year. Maybe just me!

How do you keep your marriage steamy and romantic and wonderful? After 15 plus years of marriage, kids, weariness, what makes marriage better?

A friend gives us a challenge. At first we think she’s joking because, well, her challenge was this: Get intimate with your husband for 30 days.

He loves me.

No longer the girl of 15, with a tiny waist and curvy figure, who was naïve and lighthearted, who loved Jesus because that's what she was suppose to do and who innocently and selfishly believed that everything would all work out. That girl he fell in love with is gone...

As I sat down to write this morning, this was not the post I was intending to write. But many times, the Lord tends to grab the pen and changes my plan and words and so this. Yesterday a sweet friend of mine posted something on Facebook and I laughed at her antics and totally related to her struggle and then got distracted with children asking me for something. I can’t even remember if I liked her post. Nonetheless, I was reminded of it this morning and so, to all you sweet, faithful mothers doing your best to pour into your children your hearts and faith, I am here to tell you that You are Amazing and all that you do to reach and teach your children truths is not falling on deaf ears, but you are building a foundation that will carry your children further than you can imagine.
